Week 1

Apply knowledge of Information Literacy by going through an information literacy process


In this lessons, i have studied about the definition of information literacy. What is Information Literacy ?

Information literacy is a framework for solving problems.






In order to solve a problem you need to follow Information Literacy Process. These are the Big 6 steps for solving problems they are:

  • Task definition: you have to define the problem fist and what is required.
  • Information seeking behavior : This is doing the research and finding the information from Books, Internet, journals, and many more other sources of information.
  • Location and access: Ex. Get a magazine article from the library, and turn to the correct page for the relevant article.
  • Use of information: Continuum: Use to develop time lines and rating scales or to show historical progression. Compare and Contrast: Use to compare and contrast information sources.  Venn Diagram: Use to identify similarities and differences.
    
  • Synthesis:


 Organize information from different sources

Decide how you will put together your notes and add your ideas and insights.

You may:

    • Write a rough draft
    • Build an outline-Create a storyboard
    • Draw a sketch

  •  Evaluation: Ex.-Determine why I didn't get an A on my report
Decide whether or not an assignment is finished.
Judge the product effectiveness
